Bringing Technology to Public Schools in Pakistan through Chromebooks with Ministry of Federal Education and Google for Education 28th April 2023, Islamabad, Pakistan – A pilot program by Google aimed at enhancing teaching and learning outcomes by leveraging the company’s tools and technology, including Chromebooks, has concluded successfully in Pakistan. To mark the successful completion of the program, a Chromebook distribution ceremony was held where over 150 Chromebooks were distributed to students and teachers by the Honorable Secretary, Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, Mr. Waseem Ajmal Chaudhary.  Chromebooks are a new type of computer designed to help you get things done faster and easier. They run ChromeOS, an operating system that has cloud storage, the best of Google built-in, and multiple layers of security. They are easy to carry, have great battery life, and are less prone to viruses than other types of computers. The program was implemented by Tech Valley, a Google for Education Country Partner, and Panl in collaboration with Google for Education, the Federal Ministry of Education and Professional Training, the National University of Science and Technology (NUST) as a research partner, and CTL as a technology partner to equip classrooms with Chromebooks. Speaking at the ceremony, the Secretary, the Ministry of Federal Education, Mr. Waseem Ajmal said, “We are pleased with the successful completion of the pilot program. It has helped us understand the potential of technology in education and how it can enhance teaching and learning outcomes. We are grateful to Tech Valley, Google for Education, NUST, and CTL for their efforts in implementing this program in Islamabad Model College for Girls.” Under the initiative, teachers were trained on digitizing their curriculum, integrating current teaching practices with technology, and leveraging subject-oriented applications for teaching. The research team has submitted a report to monitor the impact of the program, which will be presented to the Ministry to help them understand the challenges and advantages of technology in education with concrete data. Tech Valley Pakistan Digitizes Standing Committee on Federal Education and Professional Training using Google Tools & Appsheet 12th April 2023, Islamabad, Pakistan – Tech Valley Pakistan, a leading Google Workspace partner in Pakistan, has successfully digitized the Standing Committee on Federal  Education and Professional Training at the National Assembly of Pakistan with the support of National Assembly’s Digital Innovation Hub. In this regard, an inauguration ceremony was held at the National Assembly of Pakistan which was attended by prominent members of the National Assembly, government officials, and industry leaders. The committee’s processes have been streamlined using Google tools, reducing the time and effort required for approvals and decision-making.  In Phase 1 of the project, Tech Valley Pakistan along with Digital Innovation Hub deployed Google Workspace Enterprise with Complete Security & Encryption at the National Assembly of Pakistan. In Phase 2, Tech Valley Pakistan and Digital Innovation Hub is working towards enhancing the value of the existing processes by digitising workflows and providing training on the use of Google Appsheet & other tools. Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Chairman of Standing Committee on Federal Education and Professional Training, Mr. Makhdoom Syed Sami Ul Hassan Gillani, stated, “The digitization of this committee using Google tools is a first step to our digitization strategy and will prove to be a game-changer. It will significantly reduce our workload and allow us to make faster decisions, which will ultimately benefit the people of Pakistan.” The digitization of the Standing Committee on Federal Education and Professional Training is a significant step forward in creating a more efficient and effective government in Pakistan. With the use of Google tools, the committee’s work processes that previously took days can now be completed within minutes. This program is designed to provide learners with the skills and knowledge necessary to launch a career in high-growth fields such as Cybersecurity, data analytics, and digital marketing. As part of this partnership, Tech Valley Pakistan will be distributing up to 500 scholarships of the Google Career Certificates program to the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training so they can assign these to learners associated with their organization with a special focus on women and underserved areas. The Google Career Certificates program is a flexible, self-paced online training program that can prepare learners for careers in various high-growth fields. The program includes specialized training, assessments, mentorship sessions, and hands-on practical experience. Upskilling the Youth of Balochistan with Google Career Certificates Scholarships offered by Tech Valley Pakistan 5th April 2023, Quetta – Tech Valley Pakistan is proud to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with five different departments of the Government of Balochistan to distribute Google Career Certificates Scholarships in the region. This is Tech Valley, Pakistan’s first collaboration with the Government of Balochistan, which includes a partnership with Colleges, Higher and Technical Education Department, Education Department, Science, Information and Technology Department, Labor and Manpower Department, Industries and Commerce Department and Health Department. The MOU signing marks a significant milestone in Tech Valley Pakistan’s efforts to empower individuals and communities through digital education and skill development in Pakistan. As part of the partnership, Tech Valley Pakistan will be working closely with the all these departments of Balochistan to provide access to high-quality digital education and skill development programs. Tech Valley Pakistan Leads the Way, as a System Integrator, in Improving Digital Education in Pakistan Islamabad, Pakistan – Tech Valley Pakistan, in collaboration with Google for Education, PB Tech, and SpaceX/Starlink, met with Mr. Waseem Ajmal, Secretary of the Ministry of Federal Education (MoFEPT), to discuss opportunities to enhance and improve connectivity in schools across Pakistan. Tech Valley is proud to be working with a number of local telecom providers to enable access for students and teachers across Pakistan. Tech Valley is also very excited to invite SpaceX/Starlink to join in these conversations.The goal of Tech Valley is to continue to engage with local and global partners to provide internet and technology access to every student in the country, recognizing their critical role in learning and development in today’s world. The aim is to also work with rural and remote communities that have limited to no access so that it can be even more equitable in the delivery process. Tech Valley Pakistan aims to act as a system integrator, working with local and global partners to bundle education delivery services like software, hardware, and connectivity for education institutes.It is also exploring innovative solutions with multiple internet service providers to make connectivity more reliable and affordable for schools to achieve its goal. Azad Jammu & Kashmir IT Board partners with Tech Valley Pakistan to Distribute Google Career Certificates Scholarships 28th March 2023, Islamabad – Azad Jammu & Kashmir is proud to announce its partnership with Tech Valley, Pakistan to distribute scholarships for the Google Career Certificates program. This program is designed to provide learners with the skills and knowledge necessary to launch a career in high-growth fields such as cybersecurity, data analytics, and digital marketing. The Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir, Special Assistant for IT, Secretary of IT, and Director General of the IT Board welcomed this initiative and expressed their determination to increase these scholarships for Azad Kashmir and transform the state into a knowledge valley. Under the MoU, Tech Valley in collaboration with the AJK IT Board will provide scholarships for Google Career Certificates to officers and graduates of universities and government departments across Azad Kashmir to enhance their skills and increase their chances of career growth.
