Tech Valley Joins Hands With Sindh Government to Distribute Google Career Certificates Scholarships 24th March 2023, Karachi: The Sindh Information and Science Department is collaborating with Tech Valley Pakistan to distribute Google Career Certificates Scholarships in Sindh. An MOU was signed between the Information, Science and Technology Department, Sindh and Tech Valley, which will provide a significant boost to the workforce in the region. The program aims to empower graduates and college students by offering them a chance to learn and enhance their skills. Information, Science and Technology Department, Sindh is committed to enabling the employees and students of the Sindh to acquire the skills needed for the future. This initiative is a continuation of the government’s mission to empower its workforce and promote growth and development. Chief Minister appreciated the efforts of Information, Science and Technology Department, Sindh for fostering this collaboration. The ceremony was attended by CM Special Assistant Tanzila Habiba, Chief Secretary Sohail Rajput, Secretary Colleges Ahmad Bux Narejo, U&B Secretary Mureed Rahmoon, Head of Techvelly Pakistan Sobia Ikram, CEO Umer Farooq, Google project specialist Timothy Polani, Google’s Country Lead Pakistan Haris Sufian and others. Moreover, the department is proud to announce the scale up of Google CS First and Be Internet Awesome program in continuation of last year’s pilot project. Previously, more than 250 students and 100 teachers have been trained in CS First and Be Internet Awesome, which is a significant step towards the transformation of the education system in Sindh. The Sindh Government’s continued efforts in promoting education and technological advancement have yielded significant results. The recent collaborations with Google for Education team are a testament to the government’s commitment to the development of its people and the growth of the region. The Sindh Government also extended its appreciation to the Google for Education and Tech Valley team for visiting Information, Science and Technology Department, Sindh and for their unwavering support in promoting technological advancement in the region. The government looks forward to continued collaboration with these organizations to ensure the promotion of education and technological advancement in the region.

Tech Valley Pakistan Partners with Punjab Information Technology Board to Distribute Google Career Certificates Scholarships 22nd March 2023, Lahore – Tech Valley Pakistan is proud to announce its partnership with the Punjab IT Board (PITB) to distribute scholarships for the Google Career Certificates program. This program is designed to provide learners with the skills and knowledge necessary to launch a career in high-growth fields such as cybersecurity, data analytics, and digital marketing. As part of this partnership, Tech Valley Pakistan will be distributing up to 500 scholarships of the Google Career Certificates program to multiple organizations under the flagship of the Punjab IT Board so they can individually assign these scholarships to learners associated with their organizations.  The Google Career Certificates program is a flexible, self-paced online training program that can prepare learners for careers in various high-growth fields. The program includes specialized training, assessments, mentorship sessions, and hands-on practical experience. Bringing Technology in Public Schools in Pakistan through Chromebooks with the Ministry of Federal Education and Google for Education

Bringing Technology in Public Schools in Pakistan through Chromebooks with the Ministry of Federal Education and Google for Education 21st March 2023, Islamabad, Pakistan – A pilot program by Google aimed at enhancing teaching and learning outcomes by leveraging the company’s tools and technology, including Chromebooks, has concluded successfully in Pakistan. To mark the successful completion of the program, a Chromebook distribution ceremony was held at Prime Minister House by Honorable Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mr. Shahbaz Sharif, where over 150 Chromebooks were distributed to students and teachers.  Chromebooks are a new type of computer designed to help you get things done faster and easier. They run ChromeOS, an operating system that has cloud storage, the best of Google built-in, and multiple layers of security. They are easy to carry, have great battery life, and are less prone to viruses than other types of computers. The program was implemented by Tech Valley, a Google for Education Partner, and Panl in collaboration with Google for Education, the Federal Ministry of Education and Professional Training, National University of Science and Technology (NUST) as a research partner, and CTL as a technology partner to equip classrooms with Chromebooks. Speaking at the ceremony, the Prime Minister, Pakistan said, “We are pleased with the successful completion of the pilot program. It has helped us understand the potential of technology in education and how it can enhance teaching and learning outcomes. We are grateful to Tech Valley, Google for Education, NUST, and CTL for their efforts in implementing this program in the Islamabad Model College for Girls.” Under the initiative, teachers were trained on digitizing their curriculum, integrating current teaching practices with technology, and leveraging subject-oriented applications for teaching. The research team has submitted a report to monitor the impact of the program, which will be presented to the Ministry to help them understand the challenges and advantages of technology in education with concrete data. Tech Valley CEO, Umar Farooq, commented, “We are proud to have partnered with Google for Education, the Federal Ministry of Education and Professional Training, Panl, NUST, and CTL to implement this program in Pakistan. International Consortium of Google for Education, Starlink, PB Tech and Tech Valley Meets Standing Committee of Education, National Assembly of Pakistan 21 March 2023, Islamabad : Chairman Standing Committee on Education and Professional Training, National Assembly of Pakistan met with Google for Education, and PB Tech, a delegation led by Tech Valley Pakistan, to discuss the transformation of education in Pakistan through technology and global best practices. He appreciated the commitment of global partners to help in transforming the education sector of Pakistan. He also said that Education is a critical investment to the country which can lead to massive progress for the country. Changing mindset to promote the education in Pakistan is required to catch up with the global best practices. These investments are going to benefit next generations. It is time to learn from the past experience and do what is the best for #Pakistan. He also ensured that as a standing committee chairman for education and professional training, he will facilitate the local and global companies like Tech Valley, Google for Education and PB Tech to reduce hurdles in implementation of technology in education sector of Pakistan.

Global Consortium hold Talks with Chief Secretary, Gilgit Baltistan to Enhance Education Delivery in the Region 19th March 2023, Gilgit Baltistan: Global Consortium consisting of Google for Education, PB Tech and Tech Valley Pakistan team had an online meeting with Chief Secretary, Gilgit Baltistan and his office on Sunday. The talks aimed to enhance the education landscape of Gilgit Baltistan by exploring customized Google for Education offerings paired with PB Tech technologies. Mr. Mohyuddin Wani, Chief Secretary of Gilgit Baltistan applauded the efforts of Tech Valley Pakistan on successfully closing the pilot project on Google for Education. The project trained teachers on Google for Education tools, which will help in transforming the current teaching and learning practices. The meeting also included other notable officials including Secretary Finance, Secretary Education, Deputy Director EMIS, Deputy Secretary Education and Commissioner Diamer Division. Moreover, the Chief Secretary also expressed his excitement towards the establishment of a Google’s Center of Excellence in Gilgit Baltistan where teachers will be trained on digitizing their curriculum, integrating teaching practices with technology, and leveraging subject-oriented applications. This project will be a step towards making education accessible and technologically advanced in the region. Efforts by local and global connectivity partners are also being made in exploring opportunities to enhance connectivity for schools in Gilgit Baltistan, which will help in bridging the digital divide and improving internet accessibility in the region. Goverment of Gilgit Baltistan has also shown keen interest in conducting roadshows and activities to transform the education sector of Gilgit Baltistan. The visit of Google for Education, PB Tech, and Tech Valley Pakistan team is a continued engagement towards making Gilgit Baltistan a priority in the field of education and technology. The government looks forward to more collaborations with the tech giants in the future to make education and technology accessible to all in the region.

Tech Valley Collaborates with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government to Distribute Google Career Certificates Scholarship in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province 08th March 2023, Peshawar:Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan – This International Women’s Day, Tech Valley, Google for Education Partner in Pakistan, has announced a collaboration with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government to distribute Google Career Certificates Scholarships for organizations and educational institutes in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province. The scholarships will be distributed to various organizations with a special focus on women and differently-abled persons through the KP IT Board, as well as to vocational and post-graduate colleges through the KP Higher Education Department. Google Career Certificate is an online training program designed to help individuals acquire the skills necessary to launch or advance their careers in IT support, data analytics, project management, and user experience (UX) design. The program is open to anyone, regardless of prior experience or educational background, and offers a flexible, self-paced learning experience.
