Digital Sahafat training at National Press Club Islamabad

Islamabad, December 5th – Tech Valley Pakistan, in collaboration with Google and the National Press Club Islamabad, recently hosted a Digital Sahafat certified training session aimed at equipping journalists with digital journalism skills, AI-powered reporting techniques, and advanced information verification tools.

Speaking at the session, Tech Valley CEO Umar Farooq emphasized the critical role of emerging technologies and AI in modern journalism. Project Manager Sameen Aziz delivered hands-on training, introducing participants to Google AI resources, including Gemini, NotebookLM, Pinpoint, and Google Trends, as well as essential verification tools.

Key representatives from media organizations, including PFUJ President Afzal Butt, NPC President Azhar Jatoi, Secretary Nayyar Ali, and RIUJ President Tariq Ali Wirk, highlighted the importance of adopting new technologies to enhance professional capacity and maintain high standards in reporting. Senior journalist Haji Nawaz Raza spoke on the transition from traditional to digital tools, while NPC Senior Vice President Ehtisham-ul-Haq reinforced the growing necessity of AI in journalism.

The workshop concluded with certificate distribution by Parliamentary Secretary for Cultural Heritage Farah Naz Akbar, Ambassador of Türkiye Dr. Irfan Neziroğlu, Tech Valley CEO Umar Farooq, and senior media representatives. Attendees praised the training as highly beneficial and expressed interest in more such initiatives.
