ISLAMABAD, Pakistan – August 7, 2026 — Marking a landmark step toward equalizing digital opportunity across Pakistan, Tech Valley today graduated 35 merit-nominated university students from its ‘The Digital Balochistan AI Launchpad’, a five-day immersive bootcamp conceived and led by Tech Valley in strategic collaboration with the Government of Balochistan (Department of Science & IT / Higher Education Department), the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training (MOFEPT), the Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) Division, the United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP), and FAST-NUCES, Islamabad.
The cohort was drawn from public sector universities across ten districts of Balochistan including Quetta, Turbat, Khuzdar, Mastung, Sibi, Gwadar, Panjgur, Loralai, Zhob, and Uthal; bringing together students who, until this programme, had limited direct access to global AI tools, digital-economy training, or freelance income pathways.
For decades, students in Balochistan have faced structural barriers that students elsewhere in the country have not: geographic isolation, unreliable connectivity, and minimal direct exposure to global technology networks. Tech Valley designed the AI Launchpad as a direct answer to that gap, recognizing that talent is distributed equally across Pakistan, but opportunity has not been. Over five days, Tech Valley put dedicated Google Chromebooks, 12-month Google Career Certificate scholarships, and hands-on mentorship from certified trainers directly into students’ hands, building a bridge between Balochistan’s youth and the global digital economy that previously did not exist for this cohort.

Across the week, students trained directly on the same global AI and freelancing infrastructure used by digital professionals worldwide; Google’s AI ecosystem, Canva’s AI design suite, and the three leading freelance marketplaces serving Pakistani talent, closing a tools gap that has long separated Balochistan’s graduates from their peers in other provinces.
During the week, students engaged directly with senior government stakeholders connected to the province’s digital future, including a dedicated briefing session at the Inter-Provincial Coordination Division.

To extend this impact beyond the cohort itself, each graduate will return to their home university to lead a peer-to-peer training session, extending job-ready AI literacy to fellow students.
This week is a proof point, not a finish line. It demonstrates what public-private partnership can do when applied deliberately to Pakistan’s most underserved regions, and it opens the door for the rest of Pakistan’s digital economy to Balochistan’s students. Tech Valley and its partners intend for this journey to continue, for this cohort and for the students who come after them.
