Islamabad, October 15th, 2026: inDrive, a global mobility and urban services platform, has partnered with Tech Valley, a Google for Education Premier Partner, to launch Digital Safar, a free online digital-safety and AI-literacy programme for children of inDrive drivers in Pakistan.
The initiative will reach 300 children in grades 6-10 through a three-week programme featuring live online classes in Urdu. An in-person orientation for participating families will take place in Islamabad on 17 October, ahead of classes beginning on 19 October and concluding on 9 November 2026.
Awais Saeed, Country Manager of inDrive Pakistan said: “Our drivers work hard to build a better future for their children. Through Digital Safar, we want to support that aspiration by giving their children the skills to navigate the digital world safely, learn with confidence and make the most of new opportunities. We believe every child deserves the chance to be prepared for the future, regardless of their circumstances.”
Umar Farooq, Founder and CEO of Tech Valley, said: “Every child deserves to grow up digitally literate, safe and AI-ready, not just those with access to the best schools. Digital Safar is one of Tech Valley’s flagship programmes bringing Google’s digital-safety and AI curriculum straight to the children of inDrive’s driver families in Pakistan, building on a model already trusted by hundreds of thousands of students across Pakistan. To me, this partnership enables real skills, real reach and real accountability.”
Digital Safar draws on Google’s “Be Internet Awesome” and “Gemini Academy” learning tracks, combining digital citizenship, online safety and responsible artificial intelligence (AI) use through interactive learning, group discussions and practical activities.
Through the “Be Internet Awesome” track, designed for students in grades 6-8, participants will focus on practical digital-safety skills. Through games, group discussions and hands-on activities, students will learn to share information responsibly, identify fake and phishing messages, and secure their online accounts. As a final task, participants will practise distinguishing genuine messages from fake ones and create a strong password they can remember.
Through the “Gemini Academy” track, designed for students in grades 8-10, participants will explore how to use Gemini as a learning partner while critically evaluating the information it provides. They will learn to compare AI-generated responses with guidance from parents and teachers, consider when AI advice can be trusted, and develop their own digital identities. As a final project, students will create a personal Digital Citizenship Booklet using Gemini, featuring safety rules, online habits and slogans expressed in their own words.
Digital Safar marks an early step in inDrive’s efforts to expand STEM education opportunities for the children of its drivers and local communities in Pakistan. Through programmes focused on developing digital skills and technological literacy, inDrive aims to make learning opportunities more accessible to young people. This work reflects the company’s mission to challenge injustice and its commitment to fair choice, extending its focus beyond mobility to help the next generation develop skills relevant to an increasingly digital future.
