KARACHI, Pakistan – April 17, 2026 – In a major step toward accelerating digital transformation and equipping the province’s youth with future-ready skills, Tech Valley has approved an official Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by the Sindh Cabinet. The landmark agreement will provide 19,200 Google Career Certificate scholarships to students across 30 universities in Sindh.
Chaired by Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, the cabinet meeting underscored a strong provincial focus on digital skills development and educational reform. The newly approved initiative is designed to bridge the gap between academia and industry demands by equipping university students with hands-on, highly sought-after training in modern tech disciplines. Under the program, students will receive specialized education in Artificial Intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, data analytics, and cloud technologies.
“Our mission is to create opportunities for every young person in Pakistan,” said Umar Farooq, Founder and CEO of Tech Valley Pakistan. “This strategic partnership with the Sindh Government allows us to scale access to high-quality digital education. By bringing these Google Career Certificates to 30 universities, we are putting students on a direct path to meaningful employment and empowering them to build a stronger, digitally inclusive economy.”
The integration of these global certification programs into the provincial higher education framework reflects a broader commitment to governance reforms and targeted investments in education. By focusing on critical areas like AI and cybersecurity, the initiative ensures that graduates entering the workforce are competitive on both a national and global scale.
The rollout of the 19,200 scholarships will commence shortly, with Tech Valley Pakistan working closely with the 30 designated universities to streamline the onboarding process for students and faculty.
